About

Built from the ground up

I started in wireless on the construction side, running excavation and site work for cellular facilities, then founded a telecommunications construction company that completed more than fifty cell site builds for national carriers.

From there I moved into field service on mission-critical public safety radio systems, including State Police infrastructure and analog to P25 and DMR migrations. Today I work as a radio engineer for a New York State agency, covering VHF system design, Part 90 frequency planning and licensing, coverage and interference analysis, and dispatch and network engineering.

I am also a machinist and a software developer, and I build the tools I need for the work.

What I work on

Practical, standards-based engineering for land mobile radio and the infrastructure it runs on.

Spectrum and licensing

FCC Part 90 frequency planning, application engineering, letters of concurrence, and Canadian coordination.

Coverage and interference

Service contours, co-channel and adjacent-channel analysis, intermodulation screening, and link budgets.

LMR systems and dispatch

VHF conventional, P25, and DMR systems; radio programming; console and RoIP integration.

Sites and infrastructure

Towers, antennas, feedline, grounding, resilient power, and IP backhaul.
